South Platte River - Cheesman Canyon Fly Fishing

Southwest of Denver near Deckers, the South Platte River has a 21 mile stretch of amazing trout fishing waters near Cheesman Canyon below Cheesman Dam. This is a world class trout fly fishing area of riffles, pockets and pools. It is a boulder filled canyon that offers exceptional wilderness fishing opportunties. Expect to find both rainbow trout and brown trout.

Access is provided by the Gill Trail off CR126. It provides access to the middle of the stretch in between the dam and Deckers. Easier access is also provided from the town of Deckers.
