NOTES: Near Hartford and Canton, the Farmington River is a fly fishing haven. It is the second largest trout fishery in Connecticut. The Farmington River is stocked with a variety of trout species, including brook, brown and rainbow.
The best section to explore starts from the Goodwin Dam in Hartford and runs to the confluence with the Connecticut River.
