NOTES: Near Helen, the Dukes Creek is a popular area for rainbow trout and brown trout. The upper 7 miles of the creek are within the State of Georgia Smithgall Woods-Dukes Creek Conservation Area (5,560 acres), which is a catch-and-release zone. It is well-known for its trophy trout; there had been stocking in the past, but all trout are wild now.
