NOTES: Southwest of Nyssa in west-central Oregon, the Owyhee River below the Owyhee Dam is known for its stocked brown trout and rainbow trout. The most popular stretch is the tailwater trout fishery starting just below the Owyhee Dam and runs north for 10 miles to the confluence with the Snake River.
To reach the Owyhee Dam from the town of Owyhee on SR201, head west on Owyhee Avenue for 4 miles. Turn left heading south on Owyhee Lake Road for 18 miles to the dam.
