Northwest of Knoxville near Lake City, the Clinch River is known for fly fishing huge brown trout and large rainbow trout. In Tennessee, the Clinch river runs 150 miles from the Kentucky border west of Kingsport southwest to the Tennessee River confluence.

The best section for fly fishing on the Clinch River is below the TVA Norris Dam downstream for 13 miles. For wading, try access off SR61.
