Northeast of Heber City, the middle section of the Provo River below Jordanelle Dam has become a premier trout river in the state. The river is lined by cottonwoods as it meanders down through the scenic Heber Valley. This freestone tailwater is home to rainbow trout and brown trout. Note: this is fast water and is know for rolling stones so becareful wading.

The middle section of the Provo River is the most popular for fly fishing.
