Northeast of Provo near Vivian Park, the lower section of the Provo River below Deer Creek Reservoir is a scenic trout fishing river known for its wild brown trout. Flowing through Provo canyon are 7 miles of world-class, blue ribbon fishing. This is a very popular river due to its proximity to large cities. While browns rule, there are also plenty of rainbow trout and cutthroat trout.

Overall, Provo River - Lower is the 8th most popular fly fishing river of all 12 fly fishing spots in Utah.
