Colorado River - Lees Ferry Fly Fishing

The 3rd most popular fly fishing river in Arizona.

Southwest of Page near Lees Ferry, the Marble Canyon section of the Colorado River is known for exceptional tailwater trout fishing. You can expect to find unusually large trophy brown trout and can average between 10 to 20 good catches a day. The 1000 foot deep Marble Canyon stretch is a 15 mile long section of the Colorado River from the Glen Canyon Dam heading west downstream to Lees Ferry. This fast, deep and cold section of river is best explored by boat.

Make sure to check out the fly fishing near the confluence with the Paria River just downstream of Lees Ferry.

If you are looking for a warm meal and cold beer, there is a must-visit restaurant, Cliff Dwellers, just north of Lees Ferry crossing on SR89A on the righthand side of the road. Their beer list is remarkable for the middle of the desert.

Overall, Colorado River - Lees Ferry is the 3rd most popular fly fishing river of all 10 fly fishing spots in Arizona.
