Davidson River Fly Fishing

The 8th most popular fly fishing river in North Carolina.

Southwest of Asheville and northwest of Brevard, the Davidson River is a local favorite for brook trout fly fishing. The freestone Davidson River has several catch and release sections that are popular for fly casting after browns, rainbows and brookies.

The best section for fly fishing the Davidson River is near the Pisgah National Forest Fish Hatchery, located off FS475 via US276.

To reach the Public Fishing Access for fly fishing on the Davidson River from Brevard, head north on US276 for approximately 4 miles, and the U.S. Forest Service Coontree Recreation Area parking lot will be in the left.

Overall, Davidson River is the 8th most popular fly fishing river of all 19 fly fishing spots in North Carolina.
