Southeast of Hamburg and Arcade, the Clear Creek is a popular trout fishing stream straddling Cattaraugus County and Wyoming County. The headwaters of the Clear Creek are near the town of Freedom and it flows northwest to the Cattaraugus Creek confluence. You can expect to find both wild brown trout and wild rainbow trout. This creek has not been stocked since 1992.
It is a Public Fishing Stream managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. From mid-October through March, this is a catch-and-release only stream, and artificial lures only.
Overall, Clear Creek is the 17th most popular fly fishing river of all 32 fly fishing spots in New York.
