Cross River Fly Fishing

The 24th most popular fly fishing river in New York.

Northeast of NYC near Bedford, the Cross River has a short fly fishery that is stocked with rainbow trout and brown trout. The fly fishing section of the Cross River is from the outlet of Cross River Reservoir downstream to Muscoot Reservoir (about 0.4 miles). There is access from SR22 and SR35. The river is stocked with rainbow trout and brown trout annually in March.

Note: A free Public Access Permit is required to fly fish on the Cross River and this river has a maximum daily limit of five fish.

Overall, Cross River is the 24th most popular fly fishing river of all 32 fly fishing spots in New York.
