Southeast of Chittenango and Morrisville, the Chenango River is popular for fly fishing and its stocked brown trout.

The main fly fishing access on the Chenango River is south east of Morrrisville off English Avenue. There are two signed access points for the public fishing rights.

Overall, Chenango River is the 30th most popular fly fishing river of all 32 fly fishing spots in New York. Several of the better fly fishing rivers are nearby Chenango River including Oswego River, Sterling Creek and Salmon River.
