East of Tampa and Brandon, the Alafia River is popular with fly fishermen. For success, try topwater flies early morning and then go subsurface as the day heats up.
To reach the Alafia River access in Alafia River State Park from US75, use Exit 51 (SR60). Head east on SR 60 through Brandon for 12 miles to CR39. Head south on CR39 for 13 miles to the park entrance on the left.
