Crooked River Fly Fishing

The 19th most popular fly fishing river in Oregon.

Northeast of Bend and southwest of Prineville, the Crooked River is popular with fly fisherman for its trout. This tailwater fishery is known for its prolific hatches of caddis, midges and mayflies. The Crooked River is open to yearround fishery.

The best section for fly fishing on the Crooked River is the ten miles downstream of Arthur Bowman Dam at Prineville Reservoir. This is where the big populations of trout live. There is also some goof fly fishing to be found on the Crooked River along Crooked River Ranch.

Overall, Crooked River is the 19th most popular fly fishing river of all 22 fly fishing spots in Oregon.
