Southwest of Bend, the Fall River is popular with fly fisherman for its rainbow trout and brown trout. The Fall River is a natural spring creek that runs downstream northeast for 10 miles to the Deschutes River confluence. There is excellent access off FS42.

The best section for fly fishing on the Fall River is on the hatchery grounds, at the campground, and below the headwater falls.

Overall, Fall River is the 21st most popular fly fishing river of all 22 fly fishing spots in Oregon.
