Elk River Fly Fishing

The 7th most popular fly fishing river in West Virginia.

East of Charleston and southwest of Elkins, the Elk River is popular for fly fishing for its rainbow trout and brown trout.

The best section of the Elk River for fly fishing is the Elk Springs Catch And Release section. There is a two mile stretch from the Elk Springs Campground running downstream to the Rose Run Bridge (Randolph County). There is good access provided by County Road 49, and then below Valley Fork, there is access via Elk River Road.

Overall, Elk River is the 7th most popular fly fishing river of all 8 fly fishing spots in West Virginia.
