The Cebolla River is well known for fly fishing the native Rio Grande cutthroat trout.

Note: When fly fishing in New Mexico, you must have a valid fishing license in your possession at all times. There is a combined daily bag limit of five for brown trout, brook trout, rainbow trout, lake trout, konanee salmon and cutthroat trout (a maximum of two).

Overall, Cebolla River is the 12th most popular fly fishing river of all 13 fly fishing spots in New Mexico. Several of the better fly fishing rivers are nearby Cebolla River including Jemez River and Valles Caldera National Preserve.
