North of Gunnison and south of Almont, the Gunison River offers exciting fly fishing opportunities. The Gunnison River is formed by the confluence of the East River and the Taylor River at the town of Almont. While you will find many fisherman always staking out the confluence due to easy roadside access, most of the action happens downstream. This river was designed to be floated, and you will find very few waders.
